C is for Colorado

Today is our 3 Year Anniversary!

We decided that each year we would treat our anniversary like a tropical storm and go through the alphabet and celebrate according to to the corresponding letter. Our first year we were driving through Amarillo on that special day so we had a steak dinner at The Big Texan. We also enjoyed a nights stay at The Ashton, downtown. We had plans to celebrate the big B by returning to our honeymoon spot, Belize. We planned the trip on a car ride home from a weekend trip and when we I walked in the door I took a pregnancy test. The positive result lead us to canceling our Belize trip to save money and prepare for me staying at home. (We are now re-planning the trip for next year and will set it in stone as soon as we come to grips with the idea of leaving John Reid!) So last year we settled on B for Books and bought several books for each other and the baby on board. This year we are using our (mostly) annual trip to Colorado as our C.

We are headed to Lake City on Friday. My parents will be up there and our dear friends Kat and Mark are joining us. We plan to have Grammy sit while we get some alone time hiking, picnicking and fishing! I am so grateful for the man I married three years ago. He is a man who recognized his sin and desires to be sanctified. He encourages me in a wonderful way I've never known before. He enjoys life and is full of passion for so many things. And in the past 6 months I have known him as a selfless caring father he desires so much to be. Thank God I am sharing my life with him!
