Update

Wow it's been a long time! Things continue to be very busy! We are in the option period of both selling our house and buying a new one. Things should be more final by the end of the week.
John Reid has reached 3 major milestones since my last post: waving, clapping and crawling.
The waving started on it's own a few weeks ago. It's not consistent but a least once a day some lucky person get his precious hand wave and of course a big smile to go along.
Clapping has come as John Reid's first real mimicking. We clap and say "yayyy!" and he smiles, bangs his hands together and makes some sort of noise that sounds a little like "yayyyy!" He will also clap whenever we sing Patty Cake.
About crawling... John Reid has proven us all wrong. He is such a stander and showed little interest in crawling until last week. I would have loved to have had a quarter for everytime someone said "He's going to walk before he crawls" On Friday he took his first crawling steps and now he's got the hang of it. He's not very fast yet but it wont be long!
One other super fun thing John Reid is doing is exploring the world of sounds. "Mama" and "Dada" are said often, sometime when the appropriate person is around and sometimes not. He does however have one particular sound "eetaa" that seems to have some very special meaning to him. We just love his jabbers!
We have lost our camera battery and a new one is on order. Hopefully it will be here before Halloween. Becuase our best camera has been out of commision, I have limited pictures of what we've been doing. Three weekends ago we had all our family in town of OU-Texas. The following week I was in OKC and Chris was fishing on the coast. Last weekend we went to Austin for the UT- OSU game.
John Reid and I went to OKC to celebrate my sweet Grandmother's 80th Birthday. One of the many special things we had for her was a fashion show through her 80 years of life. Children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all had a role. John Reid and I played the roles of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo Jr. My grandmother had a lot of fun being pregnant with my uncle at the exact same time as Lucy with Little Ricky.

John Reid's first art! (We are putting his hand print on a pumpkin.)

Just his size.

He is getting so big!

A quick shot of John Reid after this morning's rock on the front porch. A cold front came in and the hat is just too cozy!

Naked cowboy!

Oh my!

Yea for the update! I cannot believe how much taller John Reid is than Riley. Looking at the cowboy pic and the one in the crib I can tell that he's got a few inches on him. I'll be interested to hear stats at John Reid's 9 month check up. Love you guys.
