John Reid's 9 month well visit was last Friday. Of course the shots get worse as he is more active and aware of what's going on, but he only had two. They also pricked his toe at the lab to check his iron levels (routine) and he smiled the whole time, no joke. We love Barbra at the lab!
Here at the stats: He is 30+ inches long (95%), 19lb8oz (45%) and his head circumference is in the 50% range.
Dr. Jeff said we could now give him any table food we could cut with a fork. I'm excited about our new food adventures and Dr Jeff even encouraged us to start things like peanut butter and eggs (I was really surprised after all I've read on starting those foods later because of allergies, but he told me what to watch out for.) So, we tried eggs and yogurt this weekend and both were a hit.
Chris and I are so very thankful for the past 9 months. John Reid is such a precious and joyful little boy who has shown us a love we did not know. Recently, our evening routine has been to wait in the front yard for Chris to come home from work. (We can hear the distinct rattle of his old Yukon before he turns the corner). We then follow him to the bedroom and talk while he gets out of his work clothes. I make dinner and Chris and John Reid play like crazy! I just love to step back at the end of the day and hear from a short distance the sound of those boys laughing, singing and reading! John Reid is at the age where it seems he can play forever...what fun!
