Hello Blog World!

Several people have been asking me for blog updates and when I realized yesterday that 2 girlfriends who both gave birth last week have found the time to blog I decided I could probably fit it in to my comparatively simple life.

Lots has been going on in the past couple of weeks. We've entertained at our new house a couple of times, one being for the disappointing National Championship football game. Last weekend we had family in town for John Reid's dedication. For those of you who might ask... "Dedication? What's that? Why not baptize?" The answer is that Chris and I believe that through God's grace John Reid will one day come to understand the true magnitude of his sin and Christ's saving power. Our church held a wonderful dedication service so that we could publicly profess that we as parents desire to raise John Reid in a way in which brings glory to God.

The verse that was used as the basis of a prayer over John Reid was
Teach me you way, O Lord, and I will walk in your truth; give me an
undivided heart, that I may fear your name.  I will praise you, O Lord
my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. Psalm
86:11-12

I just love my little guy!

Some of the important women in John Reid's life!
(my mom, me, Emma- Chris' cousin, GiGi- Chris' mom, Ann-Chris' aunt)

Chris was blessed with the support of a few close friend!

The next day my mom and I went to Dallas for a baby shower and some shopping while
my dad and Chris took John Reid to the Stock Show. I'm told he loved it!

Chris said the Longhorns were his favorite.

John Reid does a lot of pointing and jabbering (although you cannot make up a lot of what he says, it seems to make perfect sense to him)

Apparently he liked to look, but wasn't interested in touching the rabbits.

I can tell John Reid is growing up because the Father-Son outings are becoming more frequent. You might think I would enjoy the break but actually I miss my boys!  Chris took John Reid to the TCU basketball game last night.  John Reid lasted almost the whole game. Which seemed great at the time, but the nursery workers paid for it this morning while I was at Bible Study.

This is him getting a quick bite to eat before they left.

Chris said John Reid had his first encounter with the TCU mascot Super Frog. At first he was terrified, but eventually he was touching, pointing at and talking to him!
Above is a picture with John Reid's buddy "John-John"
