Exploring Green

Over Valentines I had high hopes of doing things with John Reid focusing on hearts and the color red. Well, because my "morning sickness" was really "all-day-sickness" I just didn't feel like it. In fact, I must admit that my Little-To-No TV Policy quickly change into recording Sesame Street every morning and using it all day long as a "sitter" for John Reid. (By the way... things have changed on the show! I'm glad I record it so I can censor it.) Thankfully I'm begining to feel better and over the past couple of days we've been focusing on the color green for St. Patrick's Day. Below are some pictures of what we've been up to...

Green peas in a green bowl

Green eggs!

This is how I often find him now days... inside anything he can find. The two items he's trying hardest to get into currently are the dishwasher and the washing machine.

The green toys we collected from the toy room.

We tried to paint with green but he really wasn't interested unless a ball was involved!

We played with (light) green shaving cream outside.

But John Reid's would rather be driving his new car!

I finally captured on camera the joyful look of daddy coming home from work!

Dad had to get into the shaving cream action!

The evening quickly turned into a flashback of my favorite Camp Ozark activity from when I was a kid. We called it WW III and it was basically a gigantic shaving cream fight. The whole camp had hair like this!

You can't really tell, but we even made John Reid's bath soap green using his new bath paints!

And this is just precious. John Reid had a big fall before nap time today. (notice the big red spot on his cheek) As I was calming him down he saw his cowboy hat and through the tears said "ha.ha"[hat] We put on his and have him a book and he was all better!

You are such a good mom! I swear the teaching skills you have...I'm a bit jealous :). I can't get over how tall John Reid looks in comparison to Riley. Hoping we can get down there in the fall...and meet baby #2. Love and miss you.
