Benjamin Wade

We had to shorten our holiday travel plans to get Benjamin back in town for a very common boy "procedure" that is usually done at birth. Because of his fluid they didn't do this procedure on him at birth and for insurance reasons it was best to get it done by the end of the year. Not to mention, the sooner the better for the poor guy. We had to go to Cook Children's Hospital (shown above in his "hospital gown"). We were treated like he was having major surgery which just reminded us once again how thankful we are for a healthy baby. We (Chris, John Reid and me) went into the O.R. until the doctor was ready. When it came time for me to hand Benjamin over to the nurse and leave the room John Reid got very upset ."Benjamin!" he yelled over and over and continued to whimper his name as we waited the 15-20 minutes until the doctor came out. He must of known his little brother was in some sort of trouble. We assured him he would be taken care of and he was. It was a little strange taking the car seat into the O.R. buckling Benjamin in and moving about our day!
Benjamin continues to bring unmeasurable joy to our family. You don't have to work very hard (if at all) to get him to grin and even giggle. (Well, to a mama they are giggles. I'm sure technically that are 'joyful coos') He seems to be ready to grow up as his favorite thing to do is to watch John Reid and any other kids we are around.

Here is Benjamin with his Aunt Allison and big cousin Lainey. Lainey LOVES baby dolls so as you can imagine we couldn't keep her hands off Real Life Baby Benjamin!

This Christmas was especially wonderful because this year God gave us a gift unlike one we've ever received. In the weeks and months surrounding Benjamin's birth we experience God's power and grace in a new way. Although it was a very difficult time for our family, we are forever grateful for it. In every moment that we rejoiced and celebrated the birth of our Savior, I thanked God that He is still alive and active the same way as 2000 years ago. (BTW, I will post Christmas pictures soon)

In the next few months we have Benjamin's 4 months check up (next week) and follow up appointments with the Cardiologist and Urologist. Both specialist are checking up on minor issues and believe they will be correcting itself soon enough. We'll keep you posted!

Here are a few more shots of our little man with golf balls in his cheeks!

Too funny! Short and fat on the left; Tall and skinny on the right!

Benjamin Wad Trigger is so cute with his "golf ball " cheeks. Hope he and everyone is feeling OK after his surgery. Glad to hear you had such a wonderful Christmas. We did too with Daniel spending the night at Grammie and Grandpa Dinkins house. Slept like a baby... down at 9:30 up at 12:00 up at 2:00 , 3:00 5:00am and then slept through most of the Christmas unwrappings!!! He is really cute and filling out.... but has no golf ball cheeks yet!
lots of love from all the Dinkins in SOCAL!
Joshua 1:8 is really challenging me this new year for reading and meditating on God's Word!
