I must admit Chris and I both agreed we are secretly ready for Christmas already. We did follow the comment with the realization that we really don't want to speed up any of our time with the boys. They grow SO FAST! Benjamin will be 11 months old this week. Oh my! These last few week of summer have been jammed packed.
Our plans to visit Florida were changed a bit because of the oil and we spent last week on the Texas Coast with Chris' family. They were so much fun! We returned to Fort Worth with my parents, brother and his two girls waiting. The boys had a golf weekend and I experienced life with 4 kids as my mom and I kept John Reid, Benjamin, Charlotte and Lainey. My brother's wife, Allison stayed at home and enjoyed some time alone with new baby Andrew.
Family Update
John Reid- As of 3 days ago, I must now admit he is two AND A HALF. He is still in love of all things sports. He is also a huge chatter box. I'm thinking he might one day combine these to passions and be a sports broadcaster. He loves to watch Mickey Mouse and Dinosaur Train. It seems to be the hotter it is outside the more TV he watches. (I'm so ready to fall!) He also has a new found interest in money. He loves his new cash register and enjoys pretending to buy things. We've been working on the potty thing and this weekend is officially Potty Training Boot camp at the Trigger house. I'll let you know how it goes. Wish us luck!
Benjamin- We have another chatter box on our hands. His favorite time of day seems to be morning and after his afternoon nap. )Both times John Reid is still in bed... coincidence? I also love this special time with just the two of us! He is a player, he's always focused on some task and jabbering all about it. He eats ALL THE TIME and I have yet to find something he will not eat. If he doesn't like something on the spoon or fork he'll gobble it up if I put it in front of him for him to pick up himself. He has his two front top and bottom teeth . He is pulling up on everything and trying very hard to "cruise." Like always, his giggle is contagious!
Chris- Loved every bit of fishing on the coast and is headed to Alaska next week to fish for Salmon with my dad. PLEASE pray for them. They will be traveling on those little sea planes like the one you've seen in the news that past couple of days. Our deep freeze broke this summer (yes, the most disgusting thing EVER). I think I will be having a new one delivered while he is gone so we can store all his yummy fish when he gets home. He's also been playing golf when he can and the two of us have been playing a little tennis.
(I've attached pictures but don't have time to make sure they are in the right order. Sorry for the randomness!)
Drinks at the beach with Chris' parents
My baby
Chris took John Reid to the Rangers Game and the Angel's Short stop threw a ball to him. Although he doesn't look excited in this picture he still talks about every day!
