Growing up I remember asking my mom what she wanted to Mother's Day and she would respond "Just make me a card. That would be so special." I never understood how a handmade piece of paper could mean so much... until last week. Painters where at our house on Friday and John Reid and I were keeping busy running errands. I had a book to pick up at Barns and Noble so we ran in and just missed Storytime. They were beginning the craft project (Mother's Day Cards) and I noticed they had crayons out. I had tried to get John Reid to color in recent weeks and he would have nothing to do with it. When I showed him what we were doing, I was excited to see he showed some interest. Here is what it ended up looking like. I will cherish it forever!

"Just Make Me a Card"
On our way to Tyler I showed Chris the card and told him how special it was to me. And my sweet husband snuck off to Target at some point during the weekend to buy supplies to for John Reid to make me another card. They created the card in a room where all Popsy's hat were so his attention span was very short. He didn't get to color, but did put on stickers of his favorite animal right now, a horse! I am so grateful for the Mother-To0-Be spa package the boys gave me as a gift, but these cards are simply priceless!
We had a great weekend and got a few great pictures!
Happy Mother's Day!
The onions are almost ready to pick!
John Reid's luscious locks!!
He's blowing into a duck call and thinks it's hilarious
John Reid has been officially introduced to golf and loves to swing the club. He even bends his knees like Daddy!
Chilling out on the swing with Daddy. Like usual, he has a golf club in hand!
I love my daddy!
Getting a bite to eat before he plays in the sprinkler.
Cheese!
We had a great visit to the Pediatric Orthopedic yesterday. I couldn't go in for the X-Ray because I'm pregnant (which was harder for me than him). I'm told he did great. Dr. Messer said everything looks like it should. He also said the next baby has a 2-10% chance of having the same hip issue, with 10% being if it's a girl. It looks like we will do an X-Ray every year for a while. Dr. Messer said an X-Ray is the only way to check up on it. As parents we really wouldn't notice anything until he's in his teen years and complains about soreness. The likelihood of this is around 5% and usually correctable with surgery. I wish we could just write it off completely, but we'll continue to place John Reid is God's hands and trust.

So cute Em! Happy Mother's Day to you. I want to see some pics of your baby bump! When do you find out the sex? Love you.
John Reid,
Thank you so much for leaving me a sweet note! It sure hurt when I fell, but Mom and Dad say I'm a trooper, and I'm starting to feel a bit better! Take it from me and listen to your mom when she tells you to sit down on the benches at the zoo! Hope to see you soon!
Your friend,
Trey
