Anniversary "D"

Yesterday was our 4th wedding anniversary. On our honeymoon we decided we would treat every anniversary like a hurricane. For each one we'd take the next letter of the alphabet and do or give something the begins with that letter. This is how our "D" anniversary played out...

Doctor's Visit- This was by far the best part of the day. We had another appointment with Dr. Tabor and learned that there is no major chromosomal issue causing the fluid in Baby Ben's tummy. PRAISE GOD! The sono showed yet again that his main organs look and are functioning normal and have not changed. PRAISE GOD! Although he was unwilling to say the fluid has decreased he did say it's not increasing PRAISE GOD! We continued to talk about the possibility of a virus (results late next week or early the next). Another possible cause could be a liver issue or something of the like. This we would not know more about until after he is born. We are all aware that this is still a serious issue and baby Ben is sick, but we continue to be "cautiously optimistic."
Please pray that God continues to place His healing and protective hand over Baby Ben.
Please pray that God Ben's organs remain healthy and are not effected by the fluid and/or it's cause.
Please pray that Baby Ben is healed completely in utero.

Delivery Day Escape- After our uplifting meeting with Dr. Tabor I was given a physical exam and test to determine if I'm at risk of going into labor in the next 2 weeks. According on the exam and the activity going on while I was on the monitor everyone began to worry I was in labor or very close. Chris and I thought we were heading home for a quick bag pack and then off to a long stay in the hospital when the nurse and Doc returned, pleasantly surprised. The test showed there is a less than 1% chance of me going into labor in the next 2 weeks. (By the way, I didn't even know this test existed! Wouldn't it be nice if every expecting mother could take it?) Even though I'm very uncomfortable at this point, I'm thrilled that Ben will remain with me for at least 2 more weeks and hopefully re-gain total health by real D Day.

Dumb Dog- Most of you all know our family's "challenges" with our Golden Retriever Barnabas. Basically, compared to his brother Rivers, Barnabas continues to prove himself less smart and often causes frustration in the Trigger Home. After a wonderful anniversary dinner the Cowan's brought over we began to experience a small storm. We have a HUGE back porch that any normal dog would seek shelter under until they were rescued to come inside. Not our Barnabas. He attempted to jump through the living room window. The sound was horrific, like a dog jumping through your house. The first of the double pane shattered into big pieces. To spare you the nasty details, let's just say a  vet visit was inevitable. So my husband spent the night at Camp Bowie Animal Clinic with Dr. Tearse (the best vet EVER) who ended his shopping trip with his wife to come stitch up our dog from 9-10:30pm.

Oh Em - Happy Anniversary! I'm so thrilled to hear the uplifting news from the Dr. and I must say a little comic relief from dear Barnabas tops it off! Continuing to pray for you all. May God continue to surround you and hold you all in His loving hands. Praying peace of mind for you and Chris. Love you.
