We had another appointment with Dr. Tabor and there are 2 major things to report.
#1 The fluid in Benjamin's abdomen has decreased
#2 All Amnio test results are in and nothing is diagnosed. This means that we are NOT dealing with a chromosomal OR viral issue.
We are focusing on the truth that God is doing a work in Benjamin's body and continue to pray He will remove the fluid completely.
While it's great news to know that Benjamin isn't fighting a virus, it leaves us with a lot of unknowns. Our situation is one that is being discussed with Dr. Tabor and his team (which includes neonatologists) on a weekly basis. We are a rare case to this team, basically a mystery at this point. Many options still remain, some with really bad outcomes and some with really good outcomes. I think it's safe to say that if we ever find out exactly what is/was going on with Baby Ben we will not know until after he is born.
The ultimate goal at this point is to get me to 38 weeks. Because of the large amount of "uterine activity" this is a challenging goal. If at the time of delivery there is still a significant amount of fluid, it is likely they will drain it from Ben before he is delivered. This would give him the best opportunity for his first breaths to be successful. Even though his heart and lungs look healthy, the large amount of fluid would make breathing difficult for him.
PLEASE continue to pray total healing and that all fluid will go away. We believe Ben is in the care of the Great Physician and his current condition is no mystery to Him. God's hands have been knitting Ben together this entire time and I know those hands are mighty to heal!
