Yesterday was a big day for baby Benjamin. They removed all of the medical equipment that was being used on Benjamin except for his IV at 2:30 PM. He is breathing on his own, but it is a little difficult for him. Emily said they would begin feeding Benjamin breastmilk today. He is still in the NICU but doing very well.
Emily and Chris will be able to hold Benjamin this morning! They are thrilled to pieces about this!!! Emily said that Benjamin looks just like Chris and she will hopefully post pictures tonight. She should be released from the hospital to return home tonight.
They have continued to run tests on Benjamin and still cannot explain the fluid on Benjamin's belly. The NICU doctor who has worked with Benjamin since his birth met with Chris and Em last night for about an hour. She was very upbeat and optimistic about Ben and believes that he will probably be in the NICU for two weeks to a month. She is not too concerned about the holes in his heart as they will heal on their own. The NICU doctor feels pretty confident that Ben will heal himself and face no major issues.
Emily will hopefully take back over the blog when she gets back home so I'm sure we all have more details.
God is so good! Thank you so much for praying alongside me and for allowing the Lord to show Himself in big ways in this precious family.

Hoooooraaaayyyy, for BABY BEN! What a wonderful testament to share in how God's hand has been working on your son. God's answer to prayer is better than our own, and this birth proves that. We can't wait to meet him.
Let us know how we can serve you, in big or small ways. We are here for you.
All our love.
